Our recording artists come from all musical backgrounds, and everyone is treated differently. Some arrive with the finished product in a carrier bag ready for production or mastering, some come through the door humming a tune. But everyone goes out with a quality product and, we feel, a high level of satisfaction.

The way we work.

The Beehouse has a deconstructive approach to music - an assumption that there is potential in all ideas, and that most songs, tunes and tracks simply need the right treatment to shine. We have the flexibility to listen, follow an idea and experiment until it becomes as close as we possibly can to your original idea. Of course we can also introduce tried and tested up-to-the-minute dance patterns, or an off-the-cuff saxophone instrumental at the drop of a hat, if inspiration is part of what you're looking for. We can provide anything from straight recording, through arrangement, even ad-hoc song-writing or lyrics, to major dance production, rock ballad, R 'N' B harmonies, or classical-type progressions.

The Beehouse, then, offers the means to the end, nothing more complicated.

Recording

The Beehouse is superbly equipped and professionally administered to a high level of skill and sensitivity. From solo artist to eight-piece jazz band, we have the technology and perhaps more importantly the tried and tested experience to get the best out of recording sessions, which tend to be relaxed, informal but purposeful.

One of our greatest assets has to be a rare blend of acute natural and trained listening skills. This combination means the recording process is less a frustrated battle to retain something of your original work, and more a pleasurable way of developing your musical ideas into a satisfying format!

From dance music production to indie song production, from folk song to choral works, dance to trance, eurovision, europop, Britpop, metal, punk, jazz, rock and roll, funk, reggae, blues, R and B...and so on, the Beehouse has experienced them all, and our engineer producers will be pleased to listen to your ideas on where your music is going and use their skills to move in the direction you want to!

Midi - Synth - Sequencer Programming

At the Beehouse we have the combined hardware, experience and musicianship to support and complement a wide range of musical projects from dance music production to indie track production, from folk song to choral works, choir to trance, eurovision, europop, Britpop, metal, punk, jazz, rock and roll, funk, reggae, blues, R and B...and so on. As far as dance music is concerned, the majority of backings and even whole tracks can be programmed through midi under your supervision and guidance. Not only do we have a very wide range of midi sounds...orchestral, electronic etc but our equipment includes the very latest dance machines to assist you in your dance track production. In fact entire backings can be created for non-musician songwriters, leaving just the vocals to add. All work carried out by our midi/synth/sequencer technician is charged at a rate of from £28 per hour.



Session Musicians

To give additional scope and range to the sounds we supply, the Beehouse normally makes use of its own trained and highly competent musicians, who are generally on hand throughout working hours at a rate of £17-£30 per hour plus VAT. On-site staff can provide guitar, bass, piano and keyboards, drum programming, brass and woodwind instruments, plus a limitless variety of synthesized sounds.

Where other instrumentalists are required, we can supply session musicians at varying rates. And we do pride ourselves - unlike many studios - on being conversant with the up to the minute styles of the new millenium, as well as the '9Os, '80s, '70s, '60s...............

Backing Tracks

The Beehouse can create backing tracks within a very wide spectrum of musical styles, ranging from modern dance music to folk and traditional jazz, and from 40's style tracks to drum 'n' bass.

To produce a backing track of an established song costs an initial setup fee of £30 plus VAT, after which we will consult with you as to the instrumentation, key changes, timings etc. Theareafter, any editing, mastering and additions will be charged at a rate of £28 per hour. Typically tracks take between 3-6 hrs to perfect. Generally, a rich well-tailored production can be produced mostly or entirely in the studio. The finished product can then be supplied in any format you prefer: CD, minidisc, DAT, cassette and so forth.

Voiceovers are also available under similar terms.

If you wish to record your tracks to album form, with the addition of your vocals then studio time is currently available from £28 per hour. Contact us for further details.
